A Day With Micah

Since it was a seriously gorgeous spring day, I made a fire in the pit on the patio and we spent the morning outside playing. Just Micah and I.

He was having a blast. He threw rocks in the brook, pushed a load of golf balls around in his dump truck and played with the dogs. When it was time to get ready for speech therapy I realized that I should have kept a better eye on him. He was in the dog kennel once again. He scaled the 6' chain link fence and dropped down on the dog house roof. He'd tossed his golf balls into the kennel and went in after them. He had them arranged like a nest of eggs in the straw inside the dog house. It was cute really. But I think I aged a little more knowing that he could have falled from the top of the fence to his death onto the biggest rock in the history of man at the base of the kennel.

When we got home this afternoon, the outdoors were calling us again. He grabbed his boots by the door and proceeded to put them on. But wait - there's dog poop on the bottom of one. Maybe that's why Mom had it outside on the step. No worries - he'll bang it off on the kitchen floor. Hmmmm, it's not coming off. Let's tap it on the kitchen table. Enter Mom yelling like an idiot.

I think we'll be eating outside tonight. It's a warm night and I can get away with it.

ewwwwww. But eating outside is good...maybe that was his plan the whole time? I came over to see your blog after laughing myself silly at your comment at The Mom Bombs.

Hmm, I think you need a new table. We had rain all day. So glad you were able to get out and play. I'm jealous!

That so so sounds like days we have at our house.

We've been eating every meal we can outside... including dinner tonight. They're really loving the picnics, although focusing on dinner instead of the grass or the birds or a car driving by or jumping up and down because "look, Mommy, I'm even taller now" gets a little frustrating sometimes!

Glad you were able to enjoy the day -- here's hoping tomorrow's just as lovely!

I can so sympathize with your heart stopping moments on the fence climbing. Bug is forever climbing EVERYTHING. Trees? Yep. Fences? Yep. Dugouts and backstops at the ballfields? *sigh* Yes.

I'm seriously considering inventing some sort of bubble wrap clothing line for young boys.

That kid can climb like nobody's business. I might have to borrow his services to string lights in our big Oak tree for Christmas. I suspect he can get much higher than I can.

The table? Now who taught him to clean his boots on the table?!?!?

Ah dog poop. It's one of those things you smell at first and can't figure out what it is. Then it hits you like a MAC truck and only then do you notice it tracked through the house. I am trying to create a Teflon coated shoe that doesn't make dog poo stick. So far no good.

Yeah, I'd eat outside too if my kitchen smelled the way I suspect yours does! LOL!

Well at least it started off a good day:) Sometimes I have to make sure my windows are shut so the neighbors don't hear me screaming, "Stop teasing him! I said it was time for bed!" I try to control it, but sometimes the top just boils over.

Micah is awesome, scaling the fence like that! Not so much with the poop cleaning though. Ewwww. I hope you have some good disinfectant!

I needed the laugh today - thank you. It's good to have at least one mountain goat in the family. :)

Dinner outside sounds nice....and hey- if you say it is for the weather, no one will know it was really because of dog poop on the table ;)

Glad it was warm enough to get outside. For a while I couldn't let the twins out anywhere near the van cuz they'd climb straight up on top of it. Shorty me had a hard time getting them down. They were thrilled by the power of it all.

Gracie and Micah could be climbing buddies. We've had our fair share of heart stopping moments around here too...

I so WISH I could have come to dinner outside with you guys!

although my 32-year old walked in with poopie shoes...I was all WTH?...thankfully he stopped before banging the offending shoe on the kitchen table (though I suspect he was thinking about it).
