Side Effects

Pet ownership comes with it's own set of problems. The horses need pedicures every other month, the dogs need... Well we won't even go there. But the lizard? What on earth could there be to him?

I'll tell you what. Crickets. He eats them. We buy them weekly, he snatches them up and gobbles them down. Only he's discriminating on which crickets are choice. Some he'll eat, some he won't. The ones he chooses to ignore grow and thrive and cohabitate with him. It all sounds hunky dory until the light go off. Then we hear the real sounds.

Nothing like crickets chirping in the house year round.

And that is why there will never be a lizard in my house ever ever again. Well, that and a million other reasons.

I'm with Burgh. I would never in a billion years be able to own a reptile. Ugh. Feeding live things to one? AHHH!

OMG I would lose my mind. IT's like you have your own little Noah's Ark going on over there...

I don't suppose Mr. choosy would eat mealworms? We had the same menagerie when my daughter had to do a biosphere. The last of the lizards just recently died a year later. Good luck!

Oh that would DRIVE me CRAZY. We do have frogs outside, and I absolutely love that sound. Crickets - they make me want to pull my hair out!

That would drive me nuts!! The large crickets would have to be disposed of!! My kids would have to catch them and toss them outside! Oh lizards and crickets give me the creeps!!

One time we had a cricket in the house, and we turned the house upside down to find that darn thing. I mean, my husband was on a QUEST!

We did eventually find it, thank goodness.

Have a wonderful day.
God bless.

As if I needed another reason to not want a lizard! That would be driving me crazy! I would never sleep - even less them now! You are a good mom for putting up with that!

Hence why when our really old dog passes away we will be pet free for a good long time!!

And that is the reason I will never have a lizard in my house. I actually think lizards are pretty cool, but I have this bug phobia thing... I'm not exaggerating, either. I have a real phobia. One that I told my therapist I DO NOT want to work on.

So no lizards for me. Good luck to you, my friend.

great, now I have the heebie-jeebies!
not a fan of crickets in the house...can't sleep. But thankfully the 2 or 3 that somehow make it into the basement meet my viscious cats. Want me to lend you one to take out what are below Figi's food standards?

Ahhhh!
Sorry, didn't mean to scream. I'm a big wuss and couldn't handle feeding something live to an animal.

The cricket chirping would drive me nuts! Any chance you could set them free outside?

Are you for real that he's picky about the kind of crickets he'll eat? But crickets chirping is such a soothing, country sound, no?

I just put a lizard down on the list of 'NO' pets for Ava!

ewwww... crickets chirping in my house... my luck one would sneak out and drive me batty chirping in the bedroom at night

Wow, I thought I had it bad with my cat who refuses to poop in the litter box...I don't think I could do reptile feeding:)

Our lizard is small and doesn't eat his crickets as fast. The first night of the week they are the loudest and the kids actually have a hard time sleeping!!

Skunk has been with us for almost two years now and I have purchased crickets all of once. That is Jon's job and I don't do it...
