And More Questions Answered

We're back to answering questions. I know, I'm such a slacker and can't focus on one task for very long. I've learned to accept myself just the way I am, and I'm thinking that it may be time for you to do the same.

I've had a lot of people ask me how I relax. The answer to this question is simple - What's relax? Okay, it's not that bad. Today was one of those days where I could use some R&R. Actually this week was, but you'll have those.

Laski asked:
How do you CHILL out when you are stressed/angry/tired/frustrated?

That depends on the season. In winter I'll lock my bedroom door, turn on the radio so loudly that I can't hear the kids banging, and take a hot bath. In summer I'll go play with the horses, dogs or do some gardening. Anything outdoors tends to clear my head pretty well.

"There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man."

Sandy C. asked:
If you could have 1 full day all to yourself with $1000, what would you do?

A day to myself. And yet, I'd love nothing more than to take my daughter shopping, maybe get a pedi just to say we've done it (and freak the poor lady out that had to touch my feet), catch a movie and eat out.

I know, I just can't seem to get away from the family. But I love shopping with my daughter and we get along so well when we're in a mall.

Lost asked:

You have a very full and busy life and you seem to rarely get a chance to wind down and pamper yourself BUT if you had one whole weekend and unlimited money what would you do JUST for you? (no sneaking in family stuff either)

Since I said I'd take my daughter along for Sandy's day out (thanks, Sandy!) I guess it's not allowed here. A whole weekend to myself and unlimited money boggles my mind. I cannot fathom. I would also go crazy from trying to figure it out. It would probably involve travel and shopping. Of course I may use the unlimited funds to buy prepaid gas cards for the vehicles.

I must say that I relax best at home, surrounded by my animals and gardens. If I could boot the family out, and have catered meals and housekeeping for a weekend that would be a little bit of heaven on earth. The unlimited funds could be used for Daddy to take the kids somewhere away from me.

OHMommy asked:
What do you do for yourself, to relax and unwind?

See any of the above. I really do enjoy sewing (which is a very good thing) if I'm not interrupted by fighting kids, Micah trying to swim in 50 degree weather, or the dogs barfing something up on the carpet. If I can sew, garden, or work with the animals uninterrupted it's wonderful relaxation for me. Sadly, the uninterrupted part is hard to come by. I also love to read and have tons of books and magazines on hand.

What do you do, when the kids and life are driving you crazy, to unwind? And what's your favorite hiding spot (for you, not your stuff)?

I hide my chocolate in the sewing room, but don't tell the kids.

I hide myself in the garden. I think that's why I have so many - it'll take the kids a while to find me and by the time they do they'll get distracted by the great outdoors and leave me alone. In the winter I have a hard time hiding. Usually it's inside a large and very bulky coat while I feed the animals. I dread going out on blustery days but once I'm there the solitude is a balm to my overtaxed motherly soul. There's something about the silence of falling snow...

And this is one of my favorite questions:

Leanne asked:
How do you stop all those children from driving you insane?

Awww, you think I'm sane. How sweet.

Love the pictures. I HAVE to get over my fear of showing my kids on my blog.

I'm insane too, and I love it as well.....all of it.

Just don't tell anyone.

you are cracking me up!

Are you trying to make me drive to your house to buy one of those puppies? If I keep seeing those super cute pictures, I just might have to!

Yes, but what I really want to know is what you do to relax and if money wasn't an option, what would you do? Personally, I tend to scream when I'm stressed. I like your method much better.

I love this blog world. It brings people together who may not ordinarily find each other. I hate gardening, can't sew for shit, and barely keep my one dog company each day ... and yet ... here you are rockin' it ALL out, and doing it well, and I just dig ya' for it.
