This Is A Test Of The Scheduled Blogging System

Today was the beginning of our county fair. This is a huge, huge event to anyone who's a red-blooded Somerset Countian. (And we are.) I know, it's all kinds of pathetic but it's who we are and we're not making any excuses for what's important to us.

Why am I telling you this? Because posting may or may not be sketchy this week. And true to Somerset County mentality, school starts the Monday after the fair. I find this to be the dumbest move on the part of the school districts ever because the kids are flat-out exhausted by then, but it's the way it's always been.

Actually, that was a lie. There was that one year when I was 17 and school started during fair week. I drove 30 minutes one way to the fair to feed the animals, drove home, showered, packed my lunch and drove to school all before 8:30. I think they realized the insanity of that in a hurry. Especially since classes were bare bones minimum on show days. That hasn't happened since.

So anyhoo... What with having the ponies at the fair, showing every few days and the driving back and forth involved, plus getting ready for school and nailing down some last minute things with Micah's kindergarten class, I may or may not be here to blog much. And if I manage to get some free time to schedule some blogs to go up I probably am not available to be reading blogs.

Sorry. But just think of all the free time I'll have the following week when I'll be completely childless.

Yay for fairs! Enjoy!!

I'm actually seriously considering flying all the way back home just to go to ours, I miss it that much. School for us always started two days before, and then we had off every day of the fair. Over the years, the district slowly took away those days, as 'city folk' moved in. Us 'farm' people always were just no shows that week.

Oh I do hope to see some great Fair pictures. That is one thing that I miss the most. Louisiana doesn't have fairs like the north did! I miss the horse shows, truck pulls, horse pulls, demolition durby, and all the great fair food! Oh you guys have a great time!!

Best of luck at the fair!

At least you have an excuse like being busy and stuff. I'm just in a total Mom-fog lately and can't get my act together. Sigh. Story of my life, really.
