The Race Is On!

The first annual Wiener Dog Races were held in uptown Somerset today. Some re-scheduling of my day occurred so that I could attend this great first-time event.

The doxies were lined up at the far end of the course, ready to be unleashed.

The owners were waiting for their dogs at the other end of the course, encouraging them to actually cross the finish line.

And the race was on!

The attention span of the contestants was short, as was the race. And really, the dogs themselves.

Spectators were offered free wieners, lemonade and chips. A fun day at the races was had by all.
