I'm Outta Here

Tomorrow morning we leave for Arizona. A great time will be had by all, I promise. I'll be back to posting next week upon my return, but in the meantime I'll leave you with some Luke-ness.

Becky was born in Alaska. We lived in a town called North Pole when we were there. For real. It was just south of Fairbanks and is a great little tourist place. We were just a few blocks from The Santa Claus House - the interior's largest gift shop. Other kids find this slightly unreal in an amazing sort of way. Even her brothers. And she loves to play it up. She tells kids that she lived near Santa's house in North Pole. Who are they to argue with her? But Luke, in all his big sister worshipping, gullible 7 year old boy ways, believed her when she said she was an elf. This was years ago. He asked her the other day if she was still an elf even though she doesn't live there any longer.

And we laughed heartily at this joke he told us:

Why did the cow jump in the ocean?

Because it was a moo-maid.

See what we've got to look forward to on the trip?

I am so excited! :)

And at least that punchline made sense. :) When Bug started telling jokes, we were always left needing to be prompted to laugh. *sigh*

Have a fantastic trip! You are a brave soul to travel with four kids.

While I'm here, I think I should accidentally let it slip that I met you yesterday. Oops! Did I say that? Anyway, Miss Karen, you are even sweeter in person than you are in writing and I'm not buying your story that you're older than me. You look about 29, and that's only if I adjust for having to be old enough to be Becky's Mom.

HAHAHA! That joke was actually funny. Our kids all went through a phase where they would make up jokes (that weren't funny and barely even made sense) and then expect us to laugh uproariously at them. Yeah. Good times.
