Playing Cowboys and Latinos

It's no secret that Micah loves Woody. The boy only has half a dozen of the stuffed cowboy dolls and yet every time he finds one laying around he gets a look of sheer delight on his face, much like mine would look if I found a chocolate bar and a cup of Starbucks just sitting there on the end table.

Woody gets himself into all sorts of predicaments. There are days when I threaten to hide he and his cronies for a while. One of his most fun tricks is to jump as high as he can (with the assistance of The Boy) and see if he can land himself on the blade of the fan. It's almost like reverse bungee jumping. Almost. Shockingly, he's surprisingly good at this sport. If it ever makes the Olympics, he's a definite shoe-in. (Or would that be boot-in?)

We've found Woody lodged on the fan numerous times, as well as in the plants and balanced on the curtain rod. Clearly, the cowboy has skills. (Although we haven't found him on the fan blades since Micah realized that the little knob on the wall makes the blades go 'round. It's even more fun watching Woody fly across the room and risk lodging on something else than it was tossing him up there to begin with.)

But today I was mad at the cowboy for all new reasons. As he was taking a flying leap across the room he spotted a Latino girl. Like most men when they see a woman that catches their eye, he headed in her direction rather quickly. He made quite an impression.

Sadly, the woman he spotted was imprinted on the side of a yogurt cup. Dora decided that she's not so much into cowboys and made a hasty exit. The result was a splatter of yogurt running down my walls and liberally spotting up my curtain. I'll be the first to admit that my walls could use a good scrubbing, but a yogurt bath won't be improving the paint's complexion.

Dora is banned from the living room, and Woody has been grounded.

Honestly, with a name like Woody, what did you expect? Sorry - bad pun but I couldn't resist.

Poor Woody. He got caught chasing a 7 yo. He should go directly to jail.

A few thoughts:

Because of you, I had to try the cinnamon dolce latte whatever thing at Starbucks yesterday. And yes... it was good. Thanks a lot.

When you said Woody, is it bad that I automatically assumed you meant Woody Woodpecker? Yep, culturally out of the loop!

And ummm good luck with those walls. The Magic Eraser is my friend.... Have you met him yet?

Yogurt is so fun to scrub off. Hopefully you got it while it was still wet. It is really hard to come off once dried!

I think we have Woody's identical twin living at our house. Believe it or not, he is almost as troublesom as the Woody at your house. He has a thing for flying into lamps and light bulbs. In fact he was threatened with his existence if he broke another light. Good luck with the yogurt, ugh.

I'm not sure how "baby frog" has not managed to destroy something in our household as it seems the frog needs to jump EVERYWHERE without any concern of the landing area.

It's crazy- almost the exact same thing happened at my house, but with Woody's friend "Jesse" and Dora's cousin "Diego"

We used to blame everything on Swiper!

I have ocd, and I always notice even the smallest marks on my walls... I would go crazy over spilled yogurt!

Woody and Dora? Does that mean Boots gets the boot? So sorry about the yogurt. Hope you nabbed it before it dried...that can be some serious nastiness :(

So all his Woody's are in time out, huh? Poor Micah. Show him the fun of tossing balloons in to moving ceiling fans. Endless hours of fun. No yogurt disasters.

Yep, never a dull moment around there. I never realized Woody was such a trouble maker. I tought all he did was through Buds out the window. I guess you learn something new everyday.

Okay, THAT was funny.

Thanks for the warning! I have now banned Dora from our house. Permanently. And she's never even stepped foot inside.
