We took the kids to a concert today because it's our Labor Day tradition to do so. Mostly because a local amusement park has some bigger name stars come in for free. Yeh, we're cheap that way.
The singers were good enough (they are professionals, you know) but it was one of the guitarists that had me talking all day. I know musicians are a breed apart, but this guy took things a bit far with his creativity. Take a look at him in this picture and tell me if you notice something odd.
Did you see it? The hair?
I first noticed the hot mess going on in the back. It was hard to miss. Then my eyes gravitated forward and I saw the super-cool-if-you're-a-musician long bangs style. He has a definite unisex thang going on there.
And then we got a closer look. It's a comb-over! The dude has a terribly receding hairline and combed from the far reaches to cover his forehead. And under that hot mess in the back? Is a large shiny spot.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd think balding would be preferable to someone thinking your electric guitar had a disastrous faulty connection.
And that wasn't all. Oh, no. Balding Comb-Over With A Hot Mess In The Back did autographs with the singer. (The whole band did, really.) The kids were in line but Sam and I had no desire to stand there so we sat behind them at a picnic table waiting and watching.
Oh. My. Holy. Heavens. The dude had a full-on crack attack going. I swear - double full moons, people! And when he finally managed to fix himself I was treated to navy blue Fruit of the Looms. I mistook them for Hanes originally but had ample opportunity to read the error of my ways.
And that was our holiday weekend. How was yours?

Eeeew. He got you comin' AND goin', didn't he? What band?
We pretty much relaxed and hubs worked on the house a bit. A few cookouts, a bunch of motorcycles (Harley's 105th was in town this weekend) and that's about it...
bwahahahaha!
so far so good...we'll see how tomorrow goes. :)
Oh NO! You got double doozied. UGH!
That hair is freaktastic, but to have crack along with it.
yikes!!
Oh my!! that is quite the way to spend the weekend. I would say thanks for the mental picture but I kinda wish you hadn't told me :)
'double full moons' hahaha.
Tee hee!
Thank you for all your prayers and blessings!
Have a wonderful Labor Day,
kari & kijsa
Hehe! We just got home from seeing ZZ Top and Bowling for Soup a couple hours ago! We did not take small children but instead had a moms night out and hired a sitter (the dads are in Iraq) I spent the whole time taking pictures of badly dressed, bad behaving people! I posted a blog in May about the ZZ Top concert in KY and now we get to compare the KY crazies to the Missouri crazies in my next blog!
Glad other people get to enjoy the same kind of fun!
Oh no!That hair hair is killin me.Sorry you were subjected to the double moons haha.
My weekend is going ok so far.Tonight was the best part of it.I went to see ZZ Top and Bowling for Soup with Michelle and Brandy. The first part of the weekend was scary but it's all good now.
haven't seen hair that bad in a really long time. thanks for the laugh.
Your Labor Day has been so much better than mine. I spent the morning at Urgent Care with the Hunny and am wishing for elusive sleep. 'Night.
Oh you lucky lucky girl. I get that sometimes it's a hard decision to make for me, but ... why do they always make the wrong one?!
Ugh. Sounds like you had an interesting labor day.
He is so sad! Why not shave the entire head and buy bigger pants? I guess he would just look middle-aged if he did that.
We spent the day in mourning since tomorrow is the first day of school. Sadness all around :)
I don't see the problem. It takes a real man to pass comb-over-bed-head off as stylish. Its impressive.
Double full moons...heh.
Oh my! That is funny!!
haha! That is hysterical!
I think when you get to that point, you gotta just shave it off. Short hair is SO much more chic and stylish than THAT hair don't!
