Luke has decided that he'll embrace Halloween with all his 7 year old might. Last year he had a fascination with Frankenstein. It is a 7 year old boy kind of thing, after all. He decided that his dress-up suit coat was very Franken-ish and wears it, along with the green mask, when he's in the mood to monsterize someone.
This year? Frankenstein is still all that, but he's not opposed to expanding his repertoire. And apparently one cannot have too many fake teeth. These are critical to any costume or occasion. The grocery store is good enough to feed the fake teeth addiction. And Luke was lucky enough one day to score two new sets of uppers for free by just turning the knob. He got the Bling-Bling he'd been eyeballing and couldn't have been happier.
So the other day I bought him a pirate mask because it was cheap and I knew he'd enjoy it. (Boy, does he ever.) And I was in charge of determining which teeth look most piraty. The two buck teeth just didn't do it for me, the bling-bling was a little too flashy, something about the rotten ones was a little too rotten, so that left the one gold capped front set as the obvious choice for a pirate boy.
He wasn't sure he believed that I paid close attention the first go-round (since I was blogging and all) so we had Teeth: Round Two. Same results. (See, I was paying attention.)
Thanks, Mom. I can always count on you to make the right choice.
Yeh, he says that now. Wait till he finds out that there will be onions in the casserole tonight.

He's a very impressive looking Frankenstein. May we call him Frank?
That is to funny. He would deffinately scare me if I saw him at night.
oh- is it really time to start thinking about Halloween already?
I haven't seen sucha fantastic Frankenstein since "Young Frankenstein." We must be on the same wavelength - I just did my Halloween costume shopping post tonight!
OMG...I love that picture! I am a Halloween junky. I already know what us girls are going to be...dork, I know:)
Good choice, Mom. Yup, one gold tooth is just perfect.
Eeeewww! Teeth creep me out. I don't know HOW you do it! I love the Frankenstein picture though.
He does realize that Halloween's still seven week away (I think!), right?
And at what age do I have to stop telling them what they WILL be for Halloween and actually letting them choose?
Lastly... good call on the teeth. You got the right ones for the pirate.
Too cute!
Those teeth remind me of a couple Halloween's ago. Jock had made up his mind to be some sort of Mack Daddy thing... big, purple feathery fedora; black and white zebra striped felt covererd cane, with a faux=crystal knob on top....
And foil on his top set of teeth. All of them. Foil.
All those teeth freak me out. A lot.
Billy Bob teeth are so much fun. Who knew that $.88 could be so much fun. TNT's niece and nephew, my sister and I played with those dumb teeth all afternoon one time. Best $0.88 I ever spent.
We are deeply into Halloween planning here. I think your Frankenstein is very frightening. We can only hope to be that authentic.
Awesome, I like the grill!
He is such a card!!!
You won't think those teeth are so cute after you've spent gazillions at the orthodontist and then they cover the pretties up with these nightmares. (I'm not letting Rachel anywhere near this post!) : )
That last pic looks like maybe Ed "Sullivan is under that costume...
LOL at Halfasstic! And Luke...that kid always cracks me up. :D
Gavin loves "Fwank" too. I found a costume online...a little more than I wanted to spend, but he was really excited by it. So now I will be hunting for a much cheaper version online and in stores. I'm sure he will be really jealous of Luke's current look (or will LURVE it).
nice. that's thinking ahead, especially for a seven year old!
