Stinkin' Hilarious

My SIL sent me this email today. Forgive me if you've already seen it, but I've found it just hysterical. And what's better is that a friend of mine actually made a pair and sent me her pictures. I love it!

My dear friends and family,

Somewhat embarrassing to admit, I'm not getting an annual bonus and Christmas is tight this year. I will be making bedroom slippers for you all as gifts. Please let me know your sizes. You'll most likely agree that it's a splendid idea, and should you wish to do the same, I've included the instructions below.
How to make bedroom slippers out of maxi pads:

You need four maxi pads to make a pair.
Two of them get laid out flat, for the foot part.
The other two wrap around the toe area to form the top.
Tape or glue each side of the top pieces to the bottom of the foot part.

Decorate the tops with whatever you desire, silk flowers (this is most
aesthetically appealing), etc.

These slippers are:
* Soft and Hygienic
* Non-slip grip strips on the soles
* Built in deodorant feature keeps feet smelling fresh
* No more bending over to mop up spills
* Disposable and biodegradable
* Environmentally safe
* Three convenient sizes: (1.) Regular, (2.) Light and (3.) Get out the Sand Bags.

I've attached a photo of the first pair I made so that you can see the
nifty slippers for yourself....

Awaiting your response. It's crucial that I get the right size for each
one of you.

And the ones my friend actually made. She claims that she loves them.

Those are hysterical. I love the Christmas design. One problem I have with bedroom slippers is that my feet always start to sweat. At least with these that problem would be eliminated. Instant absorption. And with dry weave to keep the moisture away from you!! And "wings" to keep them securely attached to your feet!

Thanks for making me laugh this morning!

Sorry to hear your dogs are leaving you "gifts" under the tree - but isnt that where gifts go? :-)

Chauncey ate a present that had a coat in it - no dog treats at all! What he was thinking, I have no idea. The coat is down filled so maybe he felt the goose that gave up its feathers to make the coat must die some more!!

Too funny!!! I'm making pairs for all the women in the family now. :) They'll love it.

I've just found your blog and you're too much fun. We homeschooled for nine years and this is the kids' first year in real school too and I LOVE it. Except I opted for grad school. I know it's rude that I ask without really searching for an answer, but I see you have a fabric addiction. Does that mean you're a seamstress? I smock.

Merry Christmas!

Psh. I just peeked into your store and your stuff is adorable!

Flea - welcome to my world! I'd love to get to know you better. You mock me with your smocking. haha I'd love to be able to do that, but have never learned. Now you've raised the bar. Isn't life without kids great? Who knew?!

Karen, I can't quilt or applique to save my life. I learned to smock when pregnant with my third child, who mocked me by being a boy. Heirloom is about all I know to do. Little things for tiny people. Don't feel challenged by it - it's one of my very few skills! Your work is beautiful. No chance you live anywhere near Tulsa, huh? I'd teach you to smock. :) And I'd watch you work, because my brain is full right now and I don't want to learn any new skills!

How funny! I don't think I could wear them, could you? Have a good day. Kellan

I suppose they would prevent your feet from getting to sweaty. But do they come in men's size 12?

Ha! That is awesome. And wouldn't that be a great white elephant gift (with the right crowd that is). :)
