What Did You Do Today?

Largest pile of laundry known to man? Almost washed.

138 posts in the Google Reader? Still there.

4 kids clean, fed and asleep? 3 out of 4 isn't bad.

Floors? Swept and mopped this morning; footprints, dirt and hair abound tonight.

Dishes? Washed twice, sink full again.

Toys? Picked up for now.

Bills? Paid.

Two meetings, therapy, and a BSC appointment? Done.

Two extra kids visiting because it's summer? Got them.

Kennels? Need cleaned.

Sewing room? A backlog of 13 shirts and 1 crib set await me.

Garden? Actively growing weeds, and a few vegetables.

Am I the only one that can't keep up with everything on a daily basis?

oh my goodness, no! I CANNOT and do not keep up with it all. I always have laundry and dishes that need done. My house always needs to be cleaned. I vacuum and there is snack crumbs, grass, dirt, etc there in about 10 seconds after the vacuum gets put away. And I only have 2! I can only imagine what all you must get done with 4.

Holy Moly....I took a nap for most of the afternoon. You would have insanely full days without the puppies. I don't know how you do it. (And I'd probably buy a shirt with teeth on mushrooms!)

That sounds like my yesterday! I started the week with a list of "to dos" that I haven't done yet because other things keep coming up including a call from a lady I told I would make a sash for for her wedding. I've had it for over a month and completley forgot about it. I have to work on it tonight! I was just thinking of doing a post like this. I'm so glad to hear I am not alone! I feel so much better now. Thanks!

Just keep plugging away at the list. It will get done!

Oh, yes! I spent a good 30 minutes stewing over Cooper's lack of clean underwear and trying to figure out where they all were, only to remember that there was a load of washed but unfolded laundry sitting in the office . . . where I set it down before I started looking for lost binkies. I am with Pam - I only have 2! It seems like 4 would make double the mess, but I think those things work exponentially - 4 kids is like 12 times the mess of 2!

(And it is good to know that human mommies and doggy mommies aren't too far off sometimes . . . if I looked hard enough, I think there are a few pictures of me letting the 'girls' hang out so the nursing beast could get at 'em.)

I do not think I have ever had a day when I get "everything" done. Some days I figure if the kids are alive, somewhat happy and fed I have accomplished enough.

What a great mommy (both of you)!

Karen, that's insane... you did all that??!!!
I didn't do half of what I was supposed to today, and now I've got a cold. Geez!

I have a teeny tiny percentage to do compared to you and I can't keep up.

You exhaust me and amaze me at the same time.

We'll talk about MY shirt design for J later :)

After the laundry, dishes, meetings, clean up/pick up, blogging, bills, sewing, garden . . .

I gave up trying a long time ago. I just try to hit the high spots.

I've given up. No matter how much I get done, there's still more to do. So, I do none of it. It's fun being a slacker, you should try it!

Suddenly my 63 unread items doesn't seem too bad. Sometimes you just gotta 'mark all as read' and move on.

No, you're not the only one who is behind. That is one of the most frustrating things about being a Mom: all the work we do? needs to be done AGAIN in 30 minutes. sigh.

Don't keep a list. You'll feel much better. LOVE that picture. It really does say it all!

Aww, I love the pic of the pup's.

I say just mark all your google reader posts as read and start fresh!

I'm glad you posted a picture with puppies. Some days, I need to see puppy pictures. They're like crack to me.

Trust me when I tell you that you aren't the only one that can't keep up with things. There are just not enough hours in the day.

You're makin' all the rest of us look bad! :D

Seriously, I.cannot.keep.up. Justin takes care of the dishes, for the most part. And I am all caught up on washing/drying the laundry...but I have 4 loads all piled precariously in one mountainous basket that have been waiting to get folded since Sunday (hangs head in shame). I won't discuss how disgusting my bathrooms are...and I blame nasty floors on Justin (his chore).

With a few exceptions it sounds like all the stuff I SHOULD have done yesterday...you got WAY more done than me and I don't have puppies. :)

You are way better than me. I didn't get 1/1000 of that done. I should be upset, right?

Leanne said...

Oh yes! Everyhing you mentioned is perfectly done and organized at MY house.

NOT!

Good golly lady give yourself a break! Personally, with regards to the dishes, I'm seriously thinking of staring to serve dinner on paper towels...they just started to recylce them here. Heck it seems to all be BBQ in a bun this time of the year anyway...

Susan said...

Karen, seeing you have time to spare in your day...slacker, cough-cough...how 'bout you come over and clean my house, too?

KG said...

Not only can I not keep up with it all, I MAKE NO EFFORT TO TRY TO KEEP UP WITH IT! I mean . . . I know some people get all self-important and satisfied at having their dishwasher unloaded before bed. *snort*

As long as there's no visible mold or heinous odor in my kitchen, I'm a winner!

There is never a day were everything gets done! ever!

I think my problem is I gave up.

No - you're not alone by a long shot. As proof? I am just redaing this post now, two days after you wrote it.

But my Google Reader is under 100. Rock on!

Me neither! Just can't keep up. And each time I try, something else breaks or we can't use our water or something!

Still, you sound like you are getting a lot done. I'm pretty impressed!
