She Shops! She Scores!

I ran out to the mall on a whim tonight. For those of you who live in or near civilization this is not noteworthy. Our nearest mall is an hour's drive. I used to be there twice a month on average, but somehow it's narrowed itself down to once every month or two.

I had this coupon for Old Navy to save $10 and figured it would save itself in gas plus actually save on the clothing. And I needed some mall therapy. Oh, the bargains to be had! We scored huge in the boys department, getting cargo pants, denim shorts and the like for $1.97. Is that huge or what?! Ah, the thrill of the hunt; the satisfaction of a bagged sale. Women are all hunters at heart.

And because I feel generous enough to share in my good fortune, now is a great time for my loyal bloggy readers to score big, too. I haven't done a giveaway in ever and ever so long and my friends, it's time!

Here's what you need to do.

1. First of all, alert the troops. Send out the call to everyone you know, and a few strangers on the street, that something is to be had for FREE. You heard that right. No tax, no shipping, nada. Free! I love that word.

2. Go check out my store. See that little rocking pony image to the right of your screen? And that little place underneath it that talks about my shop? Click on the clicky link and go browse around. No shopping required. No purchase necessary. I promise.

3. Come back to my blog and leave me a comment on what you liked best in the shop. Or what you'd like for me to custom make if you would be purchasing something. *Again, I reiterate, no purchase necessary.* If you are overcome with the overwhelming urge to buy I would be thrilled, but this will not increase your chances of winning the freebie. Just let me know what you love in a comment.

4. I will be going through the comments and randomly choosing a winner. When I say random I mean just that. Perhaps I'll close my eyes and roll the mouse around. Round and round she goes, where she lands nobody knows! Or maybe I'll let The Baby point out someone because that would truly be random. Maybe I'll count up the number of comments, put the numbers in a hat, throw them up in the air and watch them all fall down around me like snowflakes in October, then retrieve the one that escaped under the couch. However it happens, a random winner will be chosen and a gift will be given. For free.

The gift? Oh, what will that be? Well that depends on who the winner would be. I would not give a bib to someone who does not have children, or whose children stopped wearing bibs 13 years ago. I probably would not give a headband to a man. Unless of course he wanted one. I'll definitely try to make it appropriate to the situation, and may even let them choose.

So go shop, and may you score as big as I did.

**The completely random drawing will be on Monday, October 15.**

What awsome deals you found at Old Navy! Can't beat that! We live in a small town too, and while we have a mall it's actually known as 'the small' - really there is a Penneys at one end and Kmart at the other...in between changes but the standards are a jewlery store, Claire's, hallmark, Bealls, and a few random places, plus 3 eating establishments and a small movie theater. Our closest "big" mall is also an hour away.

I think the first thing I saw in your store (awhile ago, not tonight) was the Halloween apron set and I thought it was so cute! I think you mentioned you were doing one for Christmas and I'm waiting on that set to get Kayla :)

I love a great bargain find! There's nothing better, except, well....free! And that brings me to your fabulous stuff. I actually checked out your store a few days ago, and I love the shark t-shirt and I also liked the headbands (although I was wondering if you make them to fit a little girl, age 6?). So, it's a toss up for me between the nifty shark shirt or the two sided headband. You'll just have to pick me to find out which one I like best (but at complete random, of course). :)

That shark shirt was originally a custom order and the recipient insisted that I carry it in the shop. It's been a huge hit ever since.

And I can make or adjust any headband in any size. I'm making a bunch for some nieces today as a matter of fact.

Thanks so much for all your comments. Go tell your friends - remember it's a FREEBIE!

It's SO hard to decide. I don't have babies anymore, and Hubby says I can't even look - so I guess my favorites are the T-shirts - The Owls and the Shark are GREAT! And since I'm forever surrounded by stinky boys ;-) I would have to say the headbands also...

Stephanie, that bracelet is indeed beautiful. And very well priced, too. But sadly it's not in my shop. You're still in the drawing, but that would not be something I'd be authorized to giveaway.

aww too bad, I'll just have to find something else, I'll go look right now:)

I'm thinking it might be rude to say that I just bought Alexis 5 complete outfits at Gymboree for $40 (since you would have to drive forever to get there), so I won't rub it in. But I absolutely did the happy dance on my way out of the store.

Um, your store, EVERYTHING is cute. Of course, I love all things make believe-oriented since that's our mission these days. But the alien t-shirt is probably my absolute favorite. I love that you designed it based on your son's drawing.

Anonymous, right back at you. You're so mysterious. I love it. But for the drawing to be valid (if you'd be randomly chosen the winner) you've gotta leave a comment on what you like in the store. You're more than welcome to try again.

BB's Mom - awesome score yourself! Gymboree ROCKS! Niles has been quite the hit in the store, but my 6 year old and I are at outs as to who actually gets the proceeds.

Stephanie - I like your taste. The disco dots is one of my personal faves. (But not the disco, it's not a pretty sight.) The drawing will be done on Monday to start somebody's week off the right way for a change. Plus we have a too-busy weekend planned starting Friday and I'd forget.

I can't remember how I found your siste, but I love the fabrics that you use for the tag blankets and tummy time blankets. I have a 4 mo daughter and would lots of use out of one of those!

Ok so my favorite for my kids ages would be the Lets Bake Cookies Halloween Play Set .... but I am also in LOVE with the hair ties (wondering how you make them) and your blankets, bibs and other baby items are ADORABLE!!!

Your whole shop is so sweet and I LOVE LOVE LOVE your fabric selection ... where do you find such great fabric??? I love sewing, but am always having a hard time finding cute fabric selections. Your's are so unique and absoultly adorable.

Thanks for entering me,
Ally (tjaksv(at)yahoo(dot)com)

P.S. Congrats on your score at Old Navy .. I live for the thrill of a great deal.. my big goal of the year was to save more than I spent on groceries.. I did it a few weeks back spending only $35 and saving over $43 (I had a whole cart of stuff and a coupon on about everything).

Ally, thanks for visiting! It took me a while to figure out where to shop, but I've discovered a whole online host of fabric stores. Here are some of my faves:

Fabric.com
Fabric Shack
ReproDepot.com
Ciaspalette.com

I also get a lot of cute stuff from Joanne. I love that store. :)

Or I like the Lets Bake Cookies Halloween Play Set.

Ohh I love all that fabric. It reminds me of the stuff anna marie horner uses.

I loved the Your Basic Grocery Getter Market Tote, but Im not so fond of the pinky/flowery girly fabric!

however, if it was made out of the mod floral from this baby blanket.. it would be darn near perfect!

Oh wow! You have the cutest stuff in your store! You are so talented. There was no way I could pick just one favorite.

I love the little Halloween apron play set. I happen to know a little girl who would wear it all day, every day, until I managed to wrestle her to the ground to get it off of her for a wash. :)

I would probably use the Grocery Getter Market Tote for everything. I too, borrow a mountain of books every time we visit the library.

The fabric on the pink Vintage Three Little Pigs Bib is fantastic! Way cute!

I love, love, love the Lil' Cowpokes Western Baby Blanket! As soon as I finished using it for my lil' cowpoke, I'd hang it on the little one's bedroom wall for decoration.

I am amazed at how creative you are! Good job on everything!
