The Great Mysteries of Life

I'm convinced that fruit comes with fruit flies already in it. These little Bug Buds are there just waiting for fruit to go bad so they can emerge and fly around your house for days on end to tell the whole world that you had a piece of fruit go bad. Where else do they come from? Huh? One day you've got perfectly good fruit with not a tiny fly in sight and the next day you're a breeding ground for a hostile take-over. This happens in the winter as well as summer, and I don't know about you but when it's snowing we keep our windows and doors closed. And our home is just-built new so you can't tell me they were in the woodwork. What else is there but the Bug Bud theory? It's no wonder I hate fruit.

That IS one of life's great mysteries. I think they hide out in the socks that your drier keeps eating.

P.S. Thanks for the visit - get your order in earlier - they're piling up.

LOL!! I wonder about those bugs too!! I agree with Rick, that they must be in conspericy with those darn socks that keep coming up missing!! Oh and I love that your son wants to be named Jesus, that is too cute!!!

Karen - I believe this too!!! It's kind of gross imagining them already living in this fruit - but I swear I have often come to the same conclusion. And ... I hate them. You can spray them, swat at them ... it's hard to get rid of them, even after the fruit is long gone. Fun post - see ya.

I don't think they even wait for the fruit to go bad--just for you to take it home. There hasn't been any bad fruit around here in months and yet I have had a couple of the stupid little things flying around. Just a couple, mind you--enough to drive me crazy, but not enough to warrant fumigating. And one of them is in the upstairs bathroom, far, far away from any food at all. I don't know what it's living on, but it needs to die. Or at least show its face when my hands aren't full.

I am so with you on this! Where DO they come from? Our family is a bunch of fruit lovers (Gracie would choose fruit over candy anyday), but I detest those little critters. YUCK!

Oh, and thanks for your nice comment on my headache post. I have such nice bloggy pals!!

Caffeine works for me too, but it usually just sort of dulls things. I've yet to find a real solution, but I am feeling a lot better today.

I too would like ot know where they come from. Hmmm maybe if Andre ever finishes his schoolwork for the day I will set him loose on google to try and find out.

I think it is worse when potatoes go bad though. You get the same fruit flies (didn't know a potato was a fruit, but maybe its the fruit flies that dont know any better, LOL) and you get an aweful smell. I know a couple of times a potato or two have fallen out of the bag and rolled to the back of the cabinet into the dark secret places where no one dares to go, and after a couple f days youhave the fruit flies, and a smell that is undescribable, LOL. Having had to deal with it on more than one occasion, I now recognize the smell, but I still have to play detective and hunt them down.

I think you are right. I believe they are in the fruit when you buy it. YUCK!!!

Thanks for stopping by to visit me yesterday. I hope you will come back again sometime.

I homeschool Andre. Thats it for now. (some days that is more than enough!) Once we get to Honduras I will be homeschooling them all. I can't wait (can you hear the sarcasm? LOL).
I wanted to let you know that I got my essentials diaper case!! Thank you so much. I have already put it to use! (I opened it yesterday - then had to fight the kids for it. Johan swore it was his toy holder to go in the car, LOL)
I was trying to describe it on my blog, I don't know if I did it justice. I hope so. ;) If you read it and think I should explain it different then let me know, so I can fix it. (although I feel much better, I still have pregnancy brain/lack of sleep brain, LOL)

I firmly believe that our fruit flies come from florida. We never have them until my in-laws visit us on their way back home after spending a month in Florida. The minute they come in with the bananas and oranges . . . fruit flies!

I'm with you on this one, but I love fruit anyways, I guess a little extra protein in the mix never hurts if you don't think about it...
