I took the last two days off from life. I didn't even sew today. What did I do, you ask? Well, yesterday I was confined in a waiting room with a toddler again. Yep, I was at the doctor. And although the test was positive, I AM NOT PREGNANT. I repeat, there are no little ones on the way. With either me or any of the dogs. I do have the streptococcal virus, though. Yippee.
So as I was finishing the Christmas cards last night I realized that I hadn't been on meds for quite 24 hours. And I was licking the envelopes. Merry Christmas to all. I feel like a heel. Can I spray them with Lysol and call it good?

That is just too funny! Gives new meaning to s.w.a.k. (instead of "sealed with a kiss", it's "streptococcal will arrive kwickly!")
Sorry . . . couldn't resist.
Hope you feel better soon! God bless.
Oh, I think I'm glad your not sending me a Christmas card. Hope you feel better!!
This is one of the reason's that cyber cards are getting so popular - at least the virus's they spread don't confine you to bed.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. The germs should be dead before the cards arrive....I think.
Glad to hear you are on the mend. Mmm- We think any germy stuff would be gone by the time your sweet letters arrived! Good enough we say!
blessings,
kari & kijsa
No one's going to touch that part of the envelope anyway. I had a scare with strep for my little one. She had a rash someone said might be caused by strep. Didn't know that was possible but I was feeling like the world's worst mom. Thankfully it was negative. The rash is most likely from dry skin. Hope you feel better soon.
Hope you feel better. It's so hard taking care of little ones while you're sick, isn't it?
I hope you feel better soon! How in the world did YOU end up with strep and not any of the kids?
I would imagine, too, that the envelope would pick up many more germs en route than just strep. In fact, it's probably a good idea that we don't dwell on that fact or I'll have to start donning rubber gloves to open the mail!
Hi Karen. I found your blog via the WWoW blog and I can totally relate to the strep virus. My son just had it and he was MISERABLE. I licked his spoon just before he was diagnosed, so I'm sure that I am a walking germ! Your comment about licking the envelopes was GREAT!!!!
I'll be back!

Kimmy - welcome to my sick little world! I'll look forward to meeting you.
Bia - that's hysterical!
Melissa - give your address, hon. I'd love to send my bloggy friends real get-in-the-mail cards.
Get this - the doctor asked if any of the kids had and I said "nope." She then questioned how the dogs were. Aww, how sweet of her to ask, I thought. Until she proceeded to tell me that she recently treated a family who passed this virus around and around until they finally had the dog tested and realized he was the carrier.
How can such a short blog posting make me laugh so much? I love it!! Well, not that you're sick but that you infected all your friends and family! Merry Freakin' Xmas!!! :-)

How weird is that about the dog being the carrier for the strep!! Are you going to get your dog tested?
Um, which dog would we start with? And how much would that cost? I think we'll see how long we can pass this around before we go to those lengths. It's always something, isn't it?
Yea - spray them with Lysol - tee hee! Hope you feel better soon - what a drag. See you later, Kellan
I know you're sick, but thank goodness you're not pregnant. Oh, wait, that's me never wanting to be pregnant again. I really don't know you that well yet.
You may be spreading more than holiday cheer this year!
Kidzmama - you are SO right. I'd way rather be sick than pregnant. I've been there a total of 36 months and don't plan to go back.
Isn't it funny how at one moment in life finding out you are pregnant is so exciting, but then in a later part of life it is just as exciting to not be pregnant? As for the strep, you should be feeling great by now, and I say, go Lysol, what lingers will spread antibodies???? That was so funny.
Strep STINKS! So sorry you're sick.
Send the cards. The germs will die, right?
Yeah, I know what you mean. I caught my croupy 2-year-old licking all the cards (because she saw me licking envelopes). I wonder how long the virus lives on a Christmas card?
