This is the first year we dared to put the train under the tree. It's so very fascinating. (Never fear, I was still working on the lights stage at this point. I do put decorations on my evergreen.)
The dogs were quite fascinated with the train, too.
Micah The Amish, weilding his sword. He was sure he'd take out that pesky photographer. The Amish don't allow their photos taken, you know.
Micah has been eyeballin' the wheels on the dishwasher tray lately. Now I know why.

You are a brave woman to be putting the train under the tree. I did it once a long time ago and learned that cats want to be train conductors in their next life. Poor little train just couldn't choo choo without getting whacked off the track. I hope it works out better for you!
Also, Micah is a genius. The dishwasher rack makes a perfect car!
I love the picture of the train under the tree, no matter how dangerous it was! The lights look gorgeous. No matter how many strands we put on the tree it never seems like enough.
I love the first picture. Your tree is gorgeous. The dogs checking the train out made me laugh. My cat always had to check it out and see what was new in the house.
The sword welding Amish...hilarious!!
You know I learned something today, I didn't even know you could take that try out of the dishwasher....
BB's Mom - That was the premier night. We're hoping the train can make it through the holiday.
Madame Queen - I just found out that one can, indeed, have too many lights. Much like the Burgh Mom's outdoor lights, my tree just shorted a fuse.
Melissa - leave it to kids to figure out how to take things apart.
I love trains under the tree!! Love that Amish pic!! And I too always wondered what fun would it be to take the dishwasher tray for a spin!! I love kid's imaginations!!
I love the train under the tree. That won't happen at our house for a long time.
My favorite picture is Micah with the dishwasher basket. It's happened in our house!!!!!
Sweet pictures - I love the ones of the boys under the tree with their train! Hope you had a good weekend. See you soon. Kellan
All Micah needs is a horse and he can wear his hat and use the dishwasher tray as a buggy!
My kids love to use those long cardboard tubes from the 54" bolts of material for their Matchbox cars. There is a maze of them sometimes.
Oooh. The tree is VERY nice. I like the train idea too, I used to do it with the kids Brio set. Now I think I may have to go and find a nice train set to try it with...
Great pics!
how fun to have a train around the tree! and what a neat idea with the dishwasher rack LOL
Wow! My toddler, too, plays with the lower dishwasher rack; he calls it his train.
