I Wouldn't Suggest Spending A Day With Me

I joined the gym the very week they moved into their new building. The second day they were there, actually. I'd waited for this because it was on our end of town and is much more convenient. ('Cuz it saves like all of 5 minutes drive time if I'd hit every red light. And just getting to town is 20 minutes. So worth it, I know.)

And since they are new in the freshly remodeled building, they are still settling in and working out bugs. Like plumbing. In the ladies restroom. The showers are working but the toilets aren't. As I don't usually hold myself just to use someone else's facilities, this isn't a problem. What is a problem is that men are walking in and out at random trying to fix the plumbing problem. I don't know about you, but I just don't feel comfortable showering with nothing but a thin plastic curtain between me and strange men. Heck, I have a hard time showering with a thin plastic curtain between me and strange women. I usually just work out and head straight home to shower.

Today I needed to run errands. And I'd worked up quite a sweat at the gym. (And lost 2 pounds in the past week! Yeah, me!) I'm still not comfortable showering there, knowing that a plumber may see MY crack. Or know that my exposed crack is just behind a thin plastic curtain. I'm such a klutz that I'd be the one to inadvertently snag the curtain with an elbow while shampooing and fling it open.

I chose to run errands being stinky and sweaty. I took other clothes to change into, and used always-handy baby wipes to freshen my underarms and other key sweat catchers. Sadly, this did little for me, but I felt just a tiny bit better knowing that I made an effort.

Wouldn't you know it was the day I ran into everyone I knew at Wal-Mart? Can I blame stinky-sweaty-smell on Micah?

*sigh*

hey- at least you exercised! Yeah for you and the 2 pounds! I am not sure if I am laughing more at the plumber seeing your crack comment or the elbow making the curtain fling open. Of course, my twisted mind went to- slipping and grabbing the curtain for help as I go down, pulling it off as I go down and laying there (probably knocked out), naked and holding the thin curtain. Yup- there is a reason I don't go to the gym!

Ah, baby wipes, they can make you feel human again sometimes ;)

Hey that's great about the weight! I need to do that, too. You were so funny about the plumber seeing your crack! I went to the grocery store the other day, luckily after I had just did my hair and makeup. I ran into a sort-of old boyfriend, a girl I went to high school with, AND my husbands old boss. Whew!

Of course you can. I have that same thing happen. You get all made up & see no one. You look like total poo & see everybody. Not fair.

At least you worked out to get stinky and smelly...that should give you some brownie points!! ;)

I have no one in diapers but still have a stash of wipes in my house!!

LOL!! That is one of Murphy's Law. The worse you look (or smell) the more people you will run into

Ugh. That always seems to happen to me--living in a small town is a pain at times!

But, on a good note--TWO POUNDS--Yeah! And, just think--those who saw you were probably admiring you for being a fitness maven! They don't need to know about the whole crack thing . . .

It has to be Murphys Law, right?

Also? Congrats on the 2 pounds!

Well, unless they were TOTALLY invading your personal space, I doubt they could smell you. :)

And yay for you for exercising! And losing two pounds! AWESOME!

Yeah, it's pretty much a given that if you look or smell like butt, you will see everyone you know. If I haven't seen anyone in years, all I have to do is run to the grocery store without showering, combing my hair, or putting on makeup. Works every time.

Two pounds? Way to go!

How exciting 2 pounds!! That is great!! It's always so hard to start loosing!! But then it will all fall off!!
I try to took okay when I venture out but, I just don't know anyone down here. And even if I didn't smell good neither does have the other southerners in Wal Mart so I would fit right in!! :)

ok, don't know if you'll get a duplicate...not sure if it's a Blogspot issue or a Colleen issue...but just in case:
WAY TO GO ON LOSING 2 LBS!!!!

Why did the gym have the men working in the ladies locker room during gym hours? Seems bad for business.
But I'm with you...I'd just give myself a big ol' Polish bath to cover up my Eau de Exercise.

(oh, and I'm Polish, in case anyone gets all PC and offended and such)

Stinky AND sweaty? Unacceptable! One or the other MIGHT have been ok but even the "land in between" the two is not good!!

Think of the rest of us!!

At least you're there doing it! I used to belong to a gym and went religiously...but then we got a treadmill in our house (which is what I used to do). And now I don't exercise. Go figure. :-(

Way to go losing 2 pounds already! You may be stinky, but you're a thinner stinky woman! haha.

Sniz - Um, I'm actually not "doing it" at the gym. We do that at home. ;)

And that is great about your weight! Good for you!!!!
