I've Got The Fever

After the great doggie debacle back in January, I think we're finally making great strides in the dog raising department.

Because preparing for vacation wasn't enough of a headache, the dogs decided they needed to throw in some more excitement. I'm sure I mentioned how two of the girls suddenly wanted some male companionship just before we left. And how our male was all about having companionship but was way more interested in merely holding hands than actually doing anything about the lusty girls throwing themselves at him.

So we bought a replacement for the dud and he was delivered the day after we left. My dad took care of the kennel and stable for us. (And the lizard, too. Who knows what a reptile habitat is called?) Our newest dog must think he's in doggy heaven. Within literal minutes he'd scored himself some doggie love. And two days later got a repeat performance with yet another lusty girl. The guy has paid himself in full and is now in the black here at the Rocking Pony household. (I should rename my kennel that.)

So in 8 weeks now (because one week has already whizzed by) we should have not one but two litters of puppies. They'll be so related to each other that the logistics of it will boggle your mind. Mental note: those puppies will never be mated with each other. They'll be half siblings from the dad. The respective moms are half siblings by their dad. You figure out how the puppies are related and let me know.

I'll get to play with puppies. Puppy fever is raging through my veins and I'm so very excited. Last year was a bum year for the kennel and you'll have them when working with animals. This year started out on the wrong foot but it looks as though we're making amends quickly.

Stay tuned, we may do a puppy pool as the time draws near. If you've suggestions for a winner's prize I'd love to hear them. Seriously.

Utmomof5 - We're building a new kennel. We'll have to put a speaker system in to pipe in Barry White. haha

Melissa - Never thought of it, but now I won't think of anything else when I hear that phrase.

Yay for the puppy biz. Hmmm . . . prizes . . . doggy biscuits? Cute puppy t-shirts (courtesy of the Rocking Pony, of course!)?

I LOVE puppies (I'd have one of my very own if it wasn't for hubby--I'll keep working on him!).

I'd rather have puppy fever than baby fever! And, congrats on the multiple litters. That stud must be awfully happy & content.

Oh i love puppies!! They are so cute and cuddly!! I have always wanted a tri colored corgi!!! My friend had a litter of corgies (is that right? "ies"??) but they were all blonde colored. I would love to have a tri colored one!! That new stud must really think he's a stud!! Now the family relations, let me see here two half sisters are bred to one male, then the puppies will be..........cousins? I have no idea, but I do know that with people you call those imbreds!! LOL!!! We do the same with horses. Congrats on the babies.

Awwwww!!! I just LOVE puppies! Once, hubby put 6 basset hound puppies in a basket (his parents used to breed them) and poured them into my lap! It was heaven!

Your puppies will be cousins and half-siblings. Not sure what it's called, but in our house, we refer to that as "Kentucky Relations" (or "West Virginia Relations" or "Arkansas Relations" depending on who we feel like offending that day).

But that's awesome to hear about your new stud!!! Will the dud be a midwife for the births? Seems like I kept having crushes on boys in high school that weren't into girls "like that". :)
