Web Browsing At It's Finest

Oh, the things one stumbles across while you're searching the world wide web. There is no end of entertainment value, especially if you're willing to involve the kids in it.

Since Mother Bloggers are all the rage now, Urban Runway is selling this for our progeny to wear.

And then set aside a little chunk from each paycheck to save for their therapy.

******************

I commend those mothers (bloggers or not) who nurse their babies. I tried, but my body decided early on that it was not in the milk making business. Thankfully they make formula for babies whose mothers have inept jugs.

So I can certainly appreciate the thought behind this wonderful little contraption. It's advertised as discreet.

That's discreet like a three legged hippo in your front lawn. Of course maybe I'm just jealous of the thin model with nary a stretch mark in sight. That cannot be her child. Show a real mom and maybe you'll sell something, morons!

**********************

This looks like so much fun! I could see my older kids playing with it, too. As in shoving the baby off and spinning each other until they were dizzy.

But we all know that a first time mom invented this because they didn't think of things like that. And because I don't see a safety belt anywhere. Do you not think that the baby will simply roll right off of that?

*********************

I'm not sure if I can thank a daddy or a mommy for this one. It could swing either way.

But I don't think it'll hide either my baby or the spit-up and ground-in Cheerios that accompany him. It may blend into your backseat so that the guys in the construction zone don't notice the kiddo in the back while you're driving your mini van through.

**********************

I am not a Trekkie, but I find this absolutely hysterical.

You Vulcan Idiot.

***********************

But what nursery is complete without this little gem.

Nothing says "sweet dreams" quite like a decapitated teddy bear.

I am all for nursing, I nursed all my children until they were almost a year old . . . but that "discreet" nursing contraption for the child that looks 12 . . . ick, gross!

And that bear lamp would give anyone nightmares!

Hey! My Rachel would love that lamp. And the baby-spinny thing? The older kids would spin the baby on it at warp speed.

Hmmm. Discreet nursing for me involved throwing a large blanket over my shoulder and hoping my child didn't grab it off my shoulder -- which nearly happened a few times with each wee one.

And the teddy bear lamp really freaked me out. As in I may seriously have nightmares about that tonight. Creepy!

We have the little spinning thingy LoL... it works great until they know how to roll over... and NEVER NEVER NEVER use it with a baby who has reflux. Yes, I know from experience. It's not pretty.

my girlfriend who runs an in-home daycare has one of those spinny tummy mats...she bought it especially for one of the babies who had major neck muscle issues and was told to due tummy-time ad-nauseum.
and the "discreet" nursing? hardly discreet when you've got a pre-schooler hanging there...and does anyone else see a kid deciding to play hide-seek or peek-a-boo with the flap (and your boob to the public?).
I do love the Spock shirt, though...that's AWESOME...especially considering when someone told me to get a Dr. Spock book when I was first pregnant, I was confused because the only Spock I ever knew was Mr. Spock.
And can I get Luke to design Gavin's room for me? He's so stinkin' creative! :)

Clearly I've been away too long . . .

Um, the headless teddy is freaking me out!

My girl NEEDS that first shirt. She asks me all the time if I'm going to blog about whatever she's doing.

Love Luke's design! Tweedle bugs?

Oh my gosh! I want those shirts (yours, the mommy blogger one AND the trekkie one)!

That spinny thing really freaks me out, maybe even more so that the teddy bear lamp, which is really, really, scary. I swear both of those would forever ruin a child--either from spun-brain-syndrome or simply having no idea that bears are supposed to have heads when they first go to the zoo.

LOL!! I thought the same thing about that skinny model with the two year old child hanging off of her, there is no way she is a mother, and there is no way that is her child. LOL!! But I too didn't nurse so maybe that is why she is a toothpick and I am a bit on the larger scale of things!! LOL!! I also thought the same thing about the baby on the spinny thing!!LOL!! My first thought with out even reading on was, "That kid will just roll off of there!" LOL!! Who buys that stuff? LOL!!

Luke has way cool designs. I so hope I win, pick me please!!!!!

I just LOVE that 'blogging' shirt. I'll need to get one for each of my kids! It's great!!!

Oh, and that, um, 'discreet' nursing thing. Ick. You're right, the model looks like she's like 12 and has a three year old strapped to her chest. Even more 'ick'!

Um - I'd buy the cammo booster seat. I'll admit it - I think it's funny.

KG said...

Oh - and PS - the bear looks like he had a few drinks and ended up with a lampshade over his head.

Madame Queen said...

That woman nursing that half grown child? Has never had a baby.

Also? The decapitated teddy-bear is truly frightening!

And Luke is a fantastic shirt designer!

That bear lamp is downright disturbing.

AutoSysGene said...

Think Geek also makes underwear that says "I'm blogging this!"

That lamp? Freaky!!

I like the booster, but then again, I've thought about buying a Ped Egg, too! Good taste abounds here.

Holy crap! That girl is going to finish nursing then go and get her drivers license test. wtf!

Jennifer said...

oh man, that teddy bear lamp is going to give me nightmares.

that was the funniest post! That bear lamp is just down right scary!!

The bear? I think that is a fire hazard as well as uber creepy. And, that kid nursing? Is she six? That is not a toddler. LOVE Luke's new tee. I need to email you about making me a set for a shower present. Don't let me forget.

If that lady is not a Mom then why is that kid sucking on her boob? :)

Vulcan idiot cracks me up too.

Love the Luke shirt.

Oh, and dangit, my Mom started those blog shirts. Well, at least I'm saying she did. I've posted a link on my site. Still need to get one (or two).

Put your hands together for inept jugs! I only lasted a month breast-feeding before my teeny-tiny boobs shriveled into my chest, screaming "WE CAN'T TAKE IT ANY MORE!!!!"

Why isn't that nursing mom screwing up her face in agonizing pain? That kid looks old enough for some teeth.

Love that new shirt design!!!!

Cecily R said...

My kids all need the blogging shirt and I need a snail head shirt designed by Luke.

Why is that nursing "mom" wearing a bathing suit??

Leanne said...

Oh my! That lamp gives me nightmares! I'm laughing over here, and I want that shirt...

Susan said...

Oh, Karen. I was ready to type a comment to the nursing sarong (worn by the "mom" wearing a bikini top - WTF?) but then I kept reading and couldn't decide. It is all too funny!

It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for. I'll remember that at our next blog-mom outing :)

I want to get Graham one of those blogging t-shirts - they crack me up!

Burgh Baby said...

I'm so far behind. Geesh.

Dude. Luke rocks the shirt designing. You've got a little fashion designer on his hands, albeit one who is a big fan of aliens!

And, um, yeah to all the stupid stuff. It's all stupid.

Love the shirt. The decapitated teddy is so scary, and the Vulcan Idiot thing? I know someone who would so dress his kid in that. I love how the baby discreetly nurses from the indiscreet model in the bikini. At that point, what's the point in covering up what's left to show?
