For some odd reason, I forgot about the puppy pool for Rhythm. I can't believe I let myself get distracted with goings-on and sleep deprivation. But I'm better rested now and we have a winner.
In a completely weird turn of events, Rhythm and Grace had exactly the same litters. Six puppies, with a split of 3 boys and 3 girls. Each. The odds of 1 litter being split evenly is, well odd. Two litters is bizarre.
Pam called it. Exactly. We had a few other guesses for the 13th, but nobody else even had the number of pups right. And then Pam had to be an overachiever and not only call the number of pups, but the genders as well. Go, Pam! Contact me through Etsy and let me know what shirt you choose for FREE!
(A quick update for those few who I haven't chatted with about the dog - she went in for the c-section and although we did lose one more pup, we got 2 more live ones. She's a wonderful mother and we all got some sleep last night. I appreciate each and every one of you who wished us well.)

And because I don't want to be a day late on every event in my life, I want to wish a happy father's day to all the dads out there. I have very few daddy readers, but I trust all my mommy readers will pass along the sentiments. And I imagine it will go something like this:
Hon, my bloggy friend Karen said to have a happy father's day.
Who?
Karen, my bloggy friend.
Oh, one of those imaginary people you spend more time online with than you do with me?
Yes.

glad to hear Rhythm's doing well after her long birthing ordeal. Also glad to hear you got some rest.
Happy Dad's Day to Sam, too! (and love that pic of him with Micah)
Yeah for sleep, healthy puppies, and good mommas!
My husband has learned to stop asking who people are when I mention them - he just assumes everyone lives in the computer, and he knows I like all of them better than him!
And Happy Father's Day to Sam - I agree with Colleen in that I LOVE that picture of him and Micah!
I think mu husband has said the same thing before!
Also, YAY for puppies!
So glad everything turned out pretty-okay. The pups are adorable! I hope you can continue to get a little bit of rest.
Happy Father's Day to Mr. Husband! :)
Those are some sweet little pups.
conversations like that happen around this house all the time! The puppies are adorable and I am glad it all worked out!
Woo hoo! I won! ;)
Um, had I told you that Mr. Husband refers to blog friends as "imaginary" friends. Seriously, he does. We have had that EXACT exchange!
Here's to an "easy" six to eight weeks followed by some happy puppy-having families!
You nailed it on the conversation about our bloggy friend...
congrats on the second litter of pups! Sorry about the 2 losses though...I didn't realize that some dogs need help/coaxing to tend to their newborns and if they don't right away they could die. I can imagine how exhausted you were waiting for labor!
Our fun in-the-middle-of-the-night e-mail exchange ended early then because last I heard you thought she was almost ready. I'm glad everything turned out okay though. Woo hoo for Pam!!
Jon doesn't even ask anymore when I say "my friend". He just shakes his head.
Hoorah for sleep! Yhe pups are adorable. Glad you survived. :)
Brilliant. And this imaginary friend is sending congrats to the new Mommies as well as a Father's Day (belated) wish to your Hubby who never minds when you come out to play with us.
If it makes you feel any better, in MY house you are known as my "penpal", since that was the simplified definition of "bloggy friend" that we gave Bug for who you were when you were out here. :)
I'm so glad that most of the puppies made it. I'm sorry for the ones that didn't. They are all super adorable!
That conversation is spot on! Except with you I can also add: "You know, the one who makes those awesome shirts!"
