There Was A Game?

Josh had his second soccer game of the season tonight. I missed the first, being in Pittsburgh with Dr. Freakazoid. But tonight I was there enjoying every second.

Micah got a seat right on the sidelines so as not to miss any action.

But he soon abandoned his post because Woody wanted to play soccer.

Of course, Micah needed to read the riot act to Woody for stepping over the line.

Being the sulky type, Woody decided to hide out in my shoe for a while.

After all that I was finally able to catch a glimpse of the game. Just in time to see them benched.

Daddy took over the entertainment of Micah for a while. They practiced boxing.

They even caught a few minutes of the game.

Oh, yeh. There's a game going on.

Then Luke took over the camera so that I could watch the game. He photographed daddy.

And mommy. Check the hat! That right there is the hippest soccer mom headgear around. I wear it because we are always facing the sun at the games. Never mind where the game is held, the parents are facing the low-setting sun and it's annoying as heck. Of course the hat freaks Micah out like you can't imagine. It probably freaks everyone else out as well. I'm hoping that the opposing team catches a glimpse of me and my bad-hatness. They'll be rolling on the field holding their sides instead of playing the game, and it'll be sweet for our team.

Micah finally managed to wrestle the hat off me. Luke had the bright idea to douse Micah with his water bottle, so Micah did what any reasonable kid would do. He took the wet garment off.

Nothing screams redneck like this picture. I really thought those shorts were all that at the store. When paired with no shirt, and a sporting a diaper under the faux boxers, I have to wonder what I was thinking.

Luke had a turn with the hat as well. Is it just me, or does he look a little too much like Gilligan?

Josh ended the game tied 2-2. I really was paying attention.

At least he plays lol. My youngest brother was not such a great player. There was the game where he picked dandelions to give my mother on the sidelines or the time he REALLY REALLY had to go so he just had a whizz against the goal post. Did I mention he was the goalie? LOL

This is one of my favorite posts in a long while. I don't know why. I just love it.

And I think Micah does look all that in the shorts and faux boxers. Very fetching.

So this is the stuff I missed while I was playing little league soccer. Water fights, boxing, photography shoots...Now I see why I didn't keep playing.

of course you were paying attention - you are a mom after all and that means you can multi task with the best of them!

You should use that pic of you as your avatar everywhere. It's perfect!

You also should take your camera with you on such outings more often. The photos are all priceless!

There's not a bad picture in the entire post. Best looking family at the game, I'd say!

Fun avatar-- I thought I had another Karen for a minute! And don't you love the angles from kid photos-- we can learn some tips from Gilligan.

This was a fun game. I enjoyed it very much, sitting in the sunshine and all (it's been raining here for about 40 days and nights and I NEVER exaggerate). Thanks for including us.

1)Dig the Harley shirt on Micah.
2)Your hat is great. You look kinda "gangsta" in that picture. If I was another soccer mom, I wouldn't mess with you.
3)Your husband has very cool facial hair.

Karen Meg - you have no idea.

Mom Bomb:
1. Sometimes I let the kids pick their own clothing. *cringe*
2. Maybe that's why nobody sits near us.
3. He's still in the rebel "I can grow this" stage after the Air Force.

So fun! That hat is precious! Gilligan is RIGHT on!

We are signing our kids up for soccer in the Fall, exciting!

I could live without the hat or the shorts, but I LOVE the flower earrings you had on. Tell me where to get those!! Please.

Oh great pics too. You've inspired me to take my camera to darling son's game tonight. Yep, Friday night at the soccer field, we really know how to have a good time up here...

Leanne - the earrings are courtesy of Premier Jewelry. I'm not sure if you can get it in Canada or not, but my MIL sells it. They come with interchangeable dangles but I prefer the flower best.

What a fun soccer game and cute kids. Like does look a lot like Gilligan in that shot. Have you ever been scarred for life by something your kid did? Comment on my blog. I'm going to start giving out awards next week.

Loved this post - love that Micah!! He's such a cutie and he makes your life fun - doesn't he?!

You and the daddy are pretty good looking folks - no wonder you got all those cute kids!!

Have a great weekend, Karen - see you soon - Kellan

Those pictures of Micah and Woody are SO cute. So are the pictures of Micah with his daddy.

Also - that hat is hawt. It looks like the kind of hats I always try to get Sumo to wear (and he always refuses to wear them). But that doesn't mean they aren't hawt.

I love that picture of you and I like the hat. :) I'd be with Micah. I get so bored at soccer games. I'm glad Diva didn't really get into them.
