OBX

We've all seen those car stickers advertising the places you've been, right? You know, the ones that are white with a black circle and random letters inside. Like if you've been to Pittsburgh you'd sport one that says PGH inside the circle.

Cool, I know. I was actually bummed that Sam wouldn't let me get one that said GCNP from the Grand Canyon because Hey! we were actually somewhere since those things were invented! I wanted to show the whole world that we did, indeed, have a life. A small and pathetic one, but a life nonetheless. But he's not into sticking things on his car so I still look pathetically lifeless.

Anyhoo...

We were driving through town the other day and Becky says there are a lot of people with that on their car.

What?

That. The stickers that say they're obnoxious. Why would they even want to advertise that anyway?

You mean the ones for Outer Banks, North Carolina?

Oh.

I really can't laugh at her though. If we'd get out more she'd probably have known that.

I'm with Sam though. I don't stick things on my car.

That's funny. I tell my kids we would get more often if it weren't for that NO shoes, NO shirt rule. Ha ha ha ha!

Is that what that stands for??? T and I were just asking about that during our last trip home.

I had no idea. Now we know . . .

And to think, we might be heading to the OBX next month. Never been, but everyone around here goes.

And yes. Some of them are obnoxious . . .

I would have been so lost with Becky!! LOL!! She is too cute. How is her puppy doing? Any better at house training?

I have a sticker that says SLC. My husband wants me to put it on my van.

I never can figure out what they mean, I would have thought the same thing as your daughter! I enjoy reading your blog and haven't commented before, its nice to see such a different lifestyle from my own (I'm a city girl who's only been on a horse 1 time in my life!) Thanks for making me smile!

Evidently no one in Detroit goes to the Outer Banks because I've never seen that sticker around here. And if I haven't seen it, of course that means it doesn't exist.

LOL! We have those things on our van. We were No Bumper Sticker people for years till we got this ancient vehicle. Then my Hunny thought it was a good idea to suddenly sticker it up. So we have several of those "obnoxious" type sticker, as well as Life is Good. And Glarnak the Destroyer (my favorite).

Too funny.

My hubby was in the car with me today and said, "did you see that car with the pib in the window?".

"What?!"

"The P-I-B"

"You mean Put In Bay?"

"Yeah"

You have to get get so close to read the tiny print on those stickers. They are just asking for a fender bender.

They are obnoxious! What the heck is that sticker supposed to mean, "Oh, we're OBX people, just like 16 million others"? What's up with that? I got so fed up with all those type stickers that I slapped one on our car that said "Narnia."

I had no idea. Obnoxious was just as good of a guess as any!

I am starting to think that we are one of 10 cars left in the greater DC area without an OBX sticker on it. She's totally right, they ARE obnoxious.
