Brotherly Love

So we're enjoying a night of snacky, fatty, non-healthy goodness during the Super Bowl because that's what's expected to happen in America. I had some meatballs and Lil' Smokies on my plate and Luke came over and started eyeballing my food.

For the love of Pete (I thought) go get your own. The food is all out there in the kitchen and there's no need to breathe all over mine.

"What's that?" he asked as he pointed to my two Lil' Smokies.

Because he's an 8 year old boy, I used language that he'd understand. "It's a mini weenie."

The light bulb clicks. He grinned, and kind of chuckled as he said, "Heh, must be Josh's."

Okay, so maybe that wasn't the best choice of words for an 8 year old boy.

and this is why I seriously want to have a boy (or two) some day. I get a kick out of that kind of humor...

So juvenile, like I wouldn't have thought the same thing....okay, I did. Isn't it sad that 8 seems to be the age they learn all that stuff. We can't say the word "balls" without getting snickers.

That is totally a comment that would be overheard in my household. Come to think of it, it probably HAS been. :)
