I saw a mama cow with the same expression this morning. Though I think she was a little newer to the whole experience. The calf was trying to stand for the first time as we drove past.
Red Pen Mama - they seemed to have stabilized and are doing well. I'll be bottle feeding indefinitely as mama has no milk, but she's cleaning them up and keeping them warm for me. She's on antibiotics now, so she's doing better as well.
Awww, poor mama dog! How many did you lose? :( I can't imagine having to bottle feed that many puppies. There's nothing they can do to help her milk supply? I wonder if herbal remedies used for lactation in humans would work?
poor milkless mama!! and poor sleepless you. if I was there I'd help ya! I'm not sleeping much anyways. I'm all for nighttime puppy feedings. Its ok pretty soon they'll be up and running around and POOPing EVERYWHERE! Thats when they're not chewing on everything! so you keep loving on them puppies mommy (#2)

Yikes. Poor mama. Poor you. Just make sure you aren't too tired and don't give the puppies your coffee instead! Good luck.
