The Good Times Just Keep Rolling Here

Josh has had that broken finger for just over a month now. The doctor said it would take about two months to heal, but we keep telling Josh that's only if he actually allows it to do so. Accidentally getting casts wet so they come off, and conveniently forgetting to wear splints while working is most likely going to prolong that healing time. But you can't reason with that boy, and I'm to the point where I'm saying if he wants to have a broken finger the rest of his life, more power to him.

He and the nephew are as close as brother. Closer than a lot of brothers, really. When Josh broke his finger, Quincey was pretty curious about what it felt like. And then he dropped a log on his finger and found out.

After spending four hours in the emergency room, it was determined that he split the bone from the tip straight down to the first joint. It's kind of an awesome fracture as far as fractures go. And he's declaring that the pain level is about a 2 or 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. Which is a very good thing, because we were at the hospital for 3 hours and 50 minutes before they offered him an ice pack. He was never offered anything in the way of meds. Not even a Tylenol. Sometimes I wonder about hospitals.

So now we've got two boys with broken left index fingers. They're twinsies like that.
