Hello? Is It Me You're Looking For?

I should probably not be put in charge of things. Yeesh.

There is a craft show this weekend that I'm kind of in charge of running. I don't find that to be a big deal because it's definitely in my line of work. It's what I do, and I get to talk to those who are My People. It was the last-minute staffing of the concession stand, however, that became my undoing.

After a long day of mentally exhausting paperwork, phone calls and errands, I made more phone calls to try to line up workers. (Seriously, though. Why do desk jobs require so much mental drainage? I'd far rather work with my hands most days. I also have something to show for it at the end of the day, too.) The one lady I'd called said to text her the most needed times to be there and she'd let me know when she could make it. She wasn't in my contact list, so I typed in her number manually.

The text came back as undelivered because I'm not a techie and failed to put in a 10-digit number. I tried again, this time with area code, and as soon as I hit SEND I realized that I typed the number wrong.

Oops.

But surely it would be undelivered, right? That's not a number that belongs to someone, right?

After an appropriately long wait of 5 seconds I realized that it was a real number, and I'd better apologize. I sent this mystery person a new message.

Sorry! Wrong number. Obviously. This is in regards to a craft show in town this weekend. If you're not doing anything maybe you can come shop.
And then I got a reply that was typed up just as I pushed SEND on my phone.

I think you have the wrong number. My name is *******, not *****. Good luck finding who you need. Have a nice day.
And then a reply to my follow-up.

HAHAHA. I just might do that. Thanks!

I love people with a sense of humor. Especially when it eases my stupidity.
