Driving through my friend's housing development, I saw the sign that said:
Happy Children At Play
This amuses me every time I see it. But of course it's much better than the Watch Children sign. It's pretty nervy to ask innocent drivers-by to have to drop everything and babysit someone else's children.
I guess my friend's development doesn't care whether or not their children get run over. They just want you to know that they were happy.

That made me laugh out loud! I needed that this Monday morning!
Are all the children in the development happy, or is the sign a lie? I would think that just living in the development would not be enough to convince a kid to just be happy. If it is, I need to move ASAP.
Thanks for the morning snort! You're my favorite for great random observations...
BB's Mom - Come to think of it, my friend tells me that her children are normal. The sign is definitely a lie.
Our development has the speed limit posted with a sign above it that reads:
"We Love Our Children"
My husband and I always thought that was kind of random. Is it supposed to be like "Thanks for the update" or is it supposed to be a reminder when, in a fit of exasperation, you want to put them out on the corner for collection? Not sure . . .
I suppose it is better than the 'Slow Children At Play' signs I've seen. I mean really, is it necessary to advertise a child's mental capacity?! :)
Deanne - that's hysterical! LOL
This is funny - your comment about watching other people's children! Have a good day, Karen.
Think about the pressure that's putting on those poor kids. How exhausting to make a point of being happy while you play outside. :)
LOL! And what happens if this turns out to be false advertising...you know some of those children might be unhappy, think about it. ;)
Lol.
If your kids aren't happy do the neighbors all get together and force you to move?
My first thought would be to put up a sign across from it that says Angry Children At Play, LOL.
I laughed out loud when I just read this. Thank you for the smile today.

In our neighborhood, the signs should read "Happy Children Doing Homework--Please turn down your car stereos"
'Cuz really... aren't ALL children happy when they do homework? :)
