Have you ever googled your own name just to see what would come up? Yeh, me neither. But I did google my husband's because if something came up that would be akin to dirt I'd find it very humorous. Not that he has any more dirt than I do, but still.
Get this - when I type in his name, Google asks me if I meant something else instead. Well, no! I know how to spell my own last name, thank you very much. I did NOT mean something else, you idiot.
But it does not even bring up the name that I typed because clearly I don't really know what I'm talking about and it feels the need to set me on the straight and narrow concerning MY OWN LAST NAME.
My husband had a tour in the Air Force, so there are many files worth of boring public records documenting everything he ate, drank and breathed for entire years of his life - ALL WITH HIS NAME ATTACHED TO IT.
So there, Google, take that!

I ran for a Village election last year, believe me when I tell you my name is all over the net.
I sure wish I could change that, be happy Google doesn't know who you are, at least you know who you are!! :)
It's funny...if you google me, all you get is a letter to the editor of Salon Magazine that I wrote ten years ago and Punkin's birth announcement. Not too bad, I guess!
I have always been afraid of seeing what it might turn up. You rocked on Alexis' t-shirt. I may need something similar in a little bit. And, I assure you, I'll be by to spend as soon as the tax refund comes....WEE
They are called "ego searches"! And I haven't done one in a while. Let's see, apparently my house sale is on the internet... I'm on my high school alumni website... An article discussing the children's choir I help with... Oh lookie! Something I wrote to Real Simple! But that woman who ran the 5K? Totally not me. Some other woman with my name.
Interesting...
Google is incredibly obnoxious sometimes.
I have googled my name before just to see what would come up. It wasn't anything exciting! I can't believe Google tried to corrct you on the spelling!! LOL!! You must have a funny last name!!
Flat Stanley and I had a blast at Mardi Gras and a box will be going out tomorrow!! It was fun!!
I have googled my own name before...just for fun. I am boring and the only thing I found was the minutes from the board meeting when I got hired at my teaching position.
That is too funny that google thought it was smarter then you and tried to correct the name.
Hope you are having a great weekend!
yeah, Google, take that! You tell 'em!
It has been a long time since I have sone that. I would guess it would try to correct my last name too!
Christina
You are such a hoot! Hope you have had a good weekend Karen - see you later. Kellan
My blog is all over the place, but not much else. Which is nice. :)
Actually, when you Google me, I end up with at least a couple of pages! I used to be an editor and a book reviewer for an electronic publisher, so between that, my blog, and my rental listings (I'm a Property Manager here in AZ), I can't really hide from anyone.
Good thing I'm not really trying... hehehe
I'm pretty shocked at how many people out there have my name, really.
Google thinks it is so smart!!
I am pleased to say I have erradicated google of all things containing my name. It took a while, but I did it. Now you can find some relatives, including a softball-playing cousin, but you will find no evidence of my existence. This is a good thing in my opinion.
I am way too boring to concern google with my existence. My Hubby on the other hand, I found out he has some distant relative...with the same name~ kind crazy, who knew!
yeah, I'm on there. Mostly from Justin's blog, my blog, and um, links stemming from being on a panel with a certain well-known politician 3 years ago, which means I'm also in Wikipedia. Don't know that I'll be disappearing from those sites anytime soon.
But pretty funny that google tried to correct your last name!
