Read It Again For Me, Please

Bluepaintred tagged me for a meme! I love these things (most of the time). This is quite an interesting one. It involves sharing posts from the past. Since I've only been blogging since last July there's not a whole lot to choose from and I apologize if my readers get bored with reading something they've already seen, but I know there should be at least 1 or 2 that are new to you. Humor me, at least.

Archive Meme Instructions: Go back through your archives and post the links to your five favorite blog posts that you’ve written. But there is a catch:
Link 1 must be about family.
Link 2 must be about friends.
Link 3 must be about yourself, who you are… what you’re all about.
Link 4 must be about something you love.
Link 5 can be anything you choose.

I think this is a great way to circulate some of the great older posts everyone had written, return to a few great places in our memories and also learn a little something about ourselves and each other that we may not know. Post your five links and then tag five other people. At least TWO of the people you tag must be newer acquaintances so that you get to know each other better. And don’t forget to read the archive posts and leave comments!

1. About family. This is the extended family, to be sure, but it's family nonetheless. And maybe a little more than you wanted to know about me. Promise you'll still be my friend.

2. About friends. Only a true friend would relive the 80's with us.

3. About myself. And now you'll know how old I'll be next Sunday when yet another birthday rolls around.

4. Something that I love. It's a heritage that we've passed on to our kids. Weirdly, we laugh at the lame countians who never grow up and leave the place, and live this wonder through their kids. But in reality it's tongue-in-cheek because we are what we're laughing at.

5. Anything. This is a classic, and a day that I never hope to relive. Looking back, I'm amazed that I didn't kill someone or something. This was only the afternoon's events. I had had a very trying and stressful morning, and came home from this to schlep kids to and from birthday parties while my husband worked. It's a classic that'll live on in infamy.

I haven't been following bloggy rules for these memes by failing to tag others. But I will with this one. I'd love to read all about the past of some of my friends. I'm to tag some new people, but in reality all my readers are new so I tag The Burgh Baby's Mom because reading about her family is always fun. I tag Flea because she's one of my newest fun readers and I've got so much to learn about her. I tag Melissa at Hope for the Hopeless because her pavement panties and her husband's hot pants cracked me up. There have got to be more gems hidden away that I need to read. I tag the Sportsmama at You Don't Have to Like Me because she has such a great relationship with her wonderful boys. And lastly I tag Hollywood Flakes because she just plain cracks me up with her real life drama.

I can do this one. I'll try and get it up tomorrow. Thank goodness now I don't need to come up with an idea for a post.

Loved taking a look back at your posts!!

Umm.. thanks? :)

You realize that ALL of my posts are about family? Which I guess lends itself to something I love... I might have to do some searching to find a friend post.. lol.

I'd say I'd let you know when its done, but you read me daily anyway, so you'd see it before I could tell you! :)

What an interesting meme! I had only read two of those -- one of which was the dog poop story! I still don't know how you managed to get through that day.

The fair one is really good. I'm a big fan of fairs but we only visit the livestock barns. But it sounds like a great activity for kids.

OH. MY. GOSH. Your family post cracks me up. We have a KKK Grand Dragon in my family. Brr.

Thanks for the tag. That's two in one day, so I'll be getting to your tomorrow. :) It'll give me time to dig up all those posts.

And I just got a cell phone this last year! Yay!

I'm going to have to come back and read your post, for now I just wanted to say thanks for coming over and leaving the well wishes - I am fine - only need to remember about that bra thing the next time I ever have to call 911. Hope to see you tomorrow. Kellan

I love love LOVED the Alter Ego post!!! Your family is...well, you should write a book. Even if it's loosly based on your family it would be a best seller. I have complete confidence that you could pull off the writing and make it wonderful. Not that you asked.

Since I once spent an afternoon reading through your archives, I had read all of these. They were just as fun the second time around! The family history one is still one of my all time favorites that you've written, but the dog in the car is not far behind.

Thanks for the tag! It's going to be fun digging back through some old posts.

Happy Early Birthday, you non-blonde blonde, you! :) Although do you consider yourself an Capricorn or Aquarius? (pick Aquarius, we're way cooler than those goats!).

Colleen - funny you asked. I've always considered myself Aquarius but every now and then I see a chart that clearly puts me in the Capricorn sign. It's my opinion that they're way off. I AM Aquarius.
