Gassy Much?

We were in the van the other day and out of the blue Josh amazes us with this little piece of boy trivia.

Did you know that if you have to flatulate and you squeeze real hard and hold it in, then you jump from your chair and land on your belly, the flatulence will come out as a burp instead?

What, exactly, does one do with information like this?

Thank him for helping you realize what to do with your flatulence?

Simply crack up laughing?

Shake your head in wonder at the weirdness that is an adolescent boy?

And if anyone wishes to try this at home please forward me the results. I'm thinking that the resulting belly flop on hardwood will make the whole flatulence thing a non-issue, but I may be wrong.

I became the mother of a son. Josh was born into our lives and we've been immensely blessed in the past 11 years to be his parents.

Happy Birthday, son. We love you.

Happy Birthday Josh!

You realize you're going to need a baseball bat to keep the girls away from that boy of yours.

Happy Birthday Josh!

It may be his birthday, but it sounds like he gave you one genius gift of knowledge with that story!

Happy Birthday!

My son is 11 in October too, and these are the type of things he comes out with all the time.

I sometimes wonder how I ever gave birth to a BOY - they're just weird. :)

Awww . . . Happy Birthday, Josh! And Happy Birthing Day, Momma - he sure is a handsome young man! And funny - did he actually use the word flatulence?! If so, could he please come teach my 3-year-old to say bottom or backside instead of butt?

So - as proof I am depraved - I read that, laughed, and then thought, "it would have been awesome if she'd said 'I tried it and actually you don't burp, but the air comes out of your tear ducts in your eyeballs.'" Now THAT would have been awesome.

Oh - and happy birthday to your not-so-little-boy! :-)

Ok, so how exactly did he learn that tidbit of information? And more importantly... who on earth ever came up with that theory, whether proven or a myth?

He's brilliant!! Not only did he solve the mystery of held in flatulance for me, but he used the word FLATULANCE! Brilliant I say!!

Happy Birthday Josh! May you have many days of non belly flopped burping ahead.

And by the way, I completely agree with whoever said you are going to have to beat the girls off with a stick Karen. He's dang cute!!

First, I'm totally lovin' the last picture! But I think we all know I've got a soft spot for athletes!

Second, both my boys are June babies, so now I've got an extra reason to think Josh is awesome!

Also, I'd really love to know just how he researched the whole flatulence/burping thing. 'Cuz Bug will definitely want more details... :)

I think I will pass on trying out his theroy. I am also not going to pass the idea on to my boys -- they probably would try it.

Happy Birthday Josh!!

I have no intention of trying this myself, but I am curious if this is theory or fact. Is this what he and his friends do when they are bored?

Aw, Happy (belated) Birthday, Josh! I hope he had a great one.

Boys really do have amazing "facts" to share. You should ask him for a demonstration!
