It's The Inferior, Non-Magical Style

Our grill is pretty awesome. I'll admit it. Stainless steel, huge grilling surface to feed a family of mostly teen boys (or the equivalent in eating capacity), the fact that we've had it for a good 5 years or so... Except that last thing is starting to catch up to itself. We replaced a burner here and there, and a grill grate on occasion, but nothing major. Still, things are starting to add up, and when Sam saw The Replacement at the store, we knew it was a super awesome good deal and decided to just buy it instead of a new burner for ours. Again.

So we have a new Super Awesome Grill. The grate inside is not just your regular, run-of-the-mill bars. Oh, no! There are circles cut into those bars that hold insets such as a griddle, a pizza stone, a veggie grilling pan, and other fun things. The above three mentioned insets came with the grill, along with an inset that completes the bar pattern if you just want to grill burgers without veggies or pizza or what the heck ever else you'd want to grill.

Hey, one could grill their baked beans in the griddle pan if one felt so inclined. Mr. Bush would be so proud, especially if you used his canned Grilling Beans. I might have to try that someday, now that I think of it.

But tonight I was grilling chicken and veggies. Garden veggies, to be exact. Zucchini, green peppers, and onions, and boy-howdy were they ever good. But I digress. As I was grilling, Micah came outside to help. He loves helping to cook. He's getting quite expert at it, too, frying eggs like a boss. He opened the grill lid, saw the chicken and veggies, and closed the grill lid. He opened the grill lid, saw the chicken and veggies, and closed the grill lid. He pointed to the sticker on the grill lid showing how to use the inserts, and in particular the pizza on the pizza stone, opened the grill lid, saw the chicken and veggies, and closed the grill lid.

Despite the super awesome deal we got on that grill, we did not get the magical version that came with a perfectly cooked pizza already in it. Nor does it magically turn chicken and veggies into pizza just because you want it to. Clearly, we got taken on that deal. But Micah managed to eat his fair share of veggies anyway. I told you they were awesome.

Oh, Micah. I just love you, kid! Thanks for the smile tonight. Not that I don't get my fair share anyway in this house, but you are always a joy, too! :-)

I love grilled veggies!!! Micah is growing up! Good for him to be cooking and looking for a magic pizza. My post has dinosaurs in it and I think he would like it. I took my grands to see an exhibit.
